The very hour before I leave
this world and all its sin
I hope I’m found in the Lord’s will
before I’m gathered in

because the world seeks my demise
of hatred and its strife
all my enemies of the cross
would seek to take my life

since love has been placed in my heart
where Jesus now lives there
I fight the good fight of my faith
to show how much I care
____
by living a life I profess
teaching the truth of God
hoping that some may give an ear
while on this earth I trod
____
fighting every demon from hell
by standing on the word
around my waist I place God’s truth
with power I am gird

the Lord had me to do His will
as every day went by
now soon it’s time for me to leave
His last command is nigh

for the difference I’ve made in life
touched souls for Jesus’ name
promoting the gospel of His love
leaves others ne’er the same
